Choices

In life, it's good to have choices. At least one won't feel so oppressed or 'forced' to do something against their will.

In my opinion, choices come with great responsibility. A choice we pick today may affect ourselves, or even others either temporarily or permanently. A right choice will of coz lead to much prosperity, however a bad choice can lead to much misery. In an unfortunate case, misery for life.

I had much choices to choose from for my university studies, from what to study to where to study. After a whole year of consideration and elimination, I've finally decided on Biomedical Science. I had many many other options, but I'm just glad I've made up my mind. The only question that remains now is "where?".

As of current, I already got my conditional offer for Bachelor of Biomedical Science from University of Queensland (UQ) and Monash Clayton. From all the crap I've heard about Monash, I think I'll go for Queensland. But hey! Don't forget there is always twinning as an option. Taylor's University College actually offers BioMed that twins with UQ. Its a 2+2 program with much video conferencing sessions with people from UQ.

Being a fella that hates to be in new environments, I am seriously considering twinning. But there are just too many things to consider. I've got opinions of my fellow classmates and parents and the following comparison is what I've drafted out.

Taylor's BioMed Twinning Program
Pros: Alot cheaper, same recognition from UQ, will still end up in UQ, accessible to all UQ online researches, video conferencing with UQ, still within comfort zone, friends and family, better FOOD, smaller class hence more attention from lecturer, bye bye WaiShan, SAC.

Cons: Lousier lecturers and facilities (I think), poor part time pay, less exposure, going to UQ on the 3rd year (final year without honours) hence have to study hard, cannot enjoy much, got to adapt to new environment while coping with finals, no maid, no "her".

UQ BioMed
Pros: Better lecturers and facilities (I think), whole new environment, can learn to be independent, easier to apply PR after studies, more exposure, more time to enjoy, good part time pay, no more curfew, cheap cars.

Cons: Expensive, terrible food, Australian accent, got to leave comfort zone, troublesome to apply accommodation & student permit, extreme weathers, not used to the place, know absolutely nothing about Queensland, lonely, no leng luis.

GAHH!! How how how?? I can't make up my mind. Please add on any extras by leaving a comment. And please pray for me too. Tks!

Choices, sometimes I wish I never had them...
