Nevertheless It Was An Experience

Finally it's a Wednesday. Wednesdays are the only day in a college week that I can go home at 3pm. Other days vary from 4pm till 9pm.

Anyway, after class, I walked straight to my car which was parked between Burger King and McDonalds. Excitedly I took out the car keys and unlock the car. To my surprise, the remote did not work. After countless attempts, we borrowed Eilene's car key battery but still it did not work.

We finally used the last resort, that is to open the door with the key, taking the risk that the alarm will go without knowing how to off it without the car keys. To our surprise, the alarm did not go. Happily I got in the car, stuffed the key into the keyhole, turned, and.. WTH!! The engine did not start. ZZZ. The radio was dead, the parking light wasn't blinking, even the door lock button wasn't working. It was quite obvious that the battery was flat.

I walked all the way to the car workshop beside TBS. After getting some advice from a mechanic there, I bought a bottle of battery water and walked all the way back to my car. Can you believe it? A whole new bottle of battery water wasn't enough to refill my car battery!! Imagine how empty was it. I had to steal some of Sheng's battery water too.

Thinking that the problem was solved, I tried to start the engine again, *TUT*... It still didn't work. We wanted to do a jump start, but Subang parkings are so freaking narrow, and it's almost impossible to do a jump start with short cables without blocking the road. We called our dad, and he told us to buy a new battery instead.

This time, my sister and CheaYing walked to the workshop to buy a new battery, while Sheng and I lepak-ed around the car. After awhile, it started to drizzle. As the rain got heavier, Sheng and I sat outside Burger King. Soon, it was pouring cats and dogs. I got an sms from my sister saying the workshop fellas will only come after the rain stops. Great, just great.

At around 5pm, Sheng had to go home already. Tks for staying back 2 whole hours just to teman me wei. And from 5pm onwards, I was alone outside Burger King, staring at the rain. zzZ

Finally the rain stopped. The mechanics came and changed our car battery. Got the car started and left straight away. In the end, instead of reaching home at 3.30pm, I got home at 6pm. zZZ

New car battery! Its a dry batt, so maintenance-free!

The old wet battery. Its freaking heavy!

Disappointing indeed, but nevertheless it was an experience. At least I know how to change car battery now! =P
