HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!!!
It's a whole new year, fresh new challenges ahead. It's also time look ahead, let the pass go, learn from our mistakes, rejoice in our achievements, and most importantly cherish the good memories.
New Year's Eve (NYE) and New Year (NY) has always been like any other day. I remember there was one new year where my sister and I were left home alone and we had campbell soup with rice for dinner. That was sorta sad. Well this year I had a blast.
Sheng and I were left without any plans on NYE. Hence we spontaneously thought of a simple yet fresh plan. So on NYE itself, we starting calling people whom we think will be free. (Try inviting people in the afternoon for a midnight event that very night. You'll know it'll be kinda hard to get positive responses.) To our surprise, 9 people made it.
At around 8pm, MayLing came and joined us for dinner. KiatJin came a little later. After that, we dropped by Robin's house for fun. HannYunn was there. That was also when Sheng and LeeZhien joined us. We chilled out a little there, then came back to my house to watch a Russell Peters video clip. Omgosh I tell you this Russell Peters is the bomb. Racist to the max. The video clip was an hour+. Halfway through the movie, WeiHoong came. We finished the clip at around 11.30pm.
We rushed to 7-11 to get drinks, then straight to Bukit Jalil Hill Park. By the time we reached the peak, it was 11.55pm, and there were many people up there, and alot more running up. Traditionally, Bukit Jalil Stadium will have fireworks. But this year, the stadium was dark, and there weren't many cars. So we were kinda worried there won't be fireworks. Nevertheless, we had the city view from the peak. And we saw around 9 different places with fireworks. KLCC was one of them. Well although it was far and small, but because there were many, it was still very nice. Something different from the usual big one in front of your face. I did take some pictures, but sadly the pictures were dark, can hardly see anything, so no point uploading.
After the fireworks, KiatJin went home, while the rest went to a nearby mamak. Eat and talk, drink and talk, and more talking. We left the mamak around 1.45am.
Well it was a simple night, but I had fun. Thanks all for coming!
Before I go, I'll leave you all an old joke.
Son: Hey mum, I'll be going out for New Year countdown with friends.
Mum: Okay sure, just be back before 12.
